Vintage Racing

Yesterday I managed to find a few Hot Wheels from the Vintage Racing line. Back in May, I wrote a post on this particular HW series. It was released in 2011, 30 cars in total, and I got my grubby hands on 6 of them.

Ronnie Sox was a drag racer who started racing in the 1950s. Buddy Martin, one of his competitors, teamed up with Sox in the early 60's and together they won, among others, 15 National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) events and 16 International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) events.

Shirley Shahan started drag racing in 1956 and ten years later, already a mother of three, she made history when she became the first woman to win an NHRA event. That day, she was driving a 1965 Plymouth Belvedere.

The Ford Drag Team was Ford’s factory drag racing team in 1969 and 1970 and Ed terry was one of the team's captains. In the link below you can see him racing a '69 Mustang (at 0:56).

1964 Ford Galaxie 500

As for this Ford Galaxie, it's got a driver's name on it, "Mark Morse", but I have no idea who that might be. This car looks like one of those 60's NASCAR racer.
